Hotel Photography for Hand Picked Hotels (or, getting slaughtered in the Cotswolds)

Three days hotel photography in the Cotswolds working with Hand Picked Hotels in and around Lower Slaughter. The village’s name is thought to derive from the Old English ‘slōhtre’ or a related word associated with a muddy place. The name reflects the landscape around the River Eye, which flows through the village and would historically have made parts of the valley damp and marshy. So, nothing sinister! However, days two and three lived up to the name with constant rain!

We shot two hotels (Lower Slaughter Manor and Buckland Manor) and the local country pub, ‘The Slaughters Country Inn’… all beautifully presented, very cosy and rather luxurious. Lucky with the weather on day one, we managed some autumnal views (the gardens at Buckland Manor are fabulous, and I used a drone for some shots to catch the rolling hills behind), and the whole shoot was expertly organised by the marketing team and Catherine of ‘AskMissJones’, a shoot production agency from Edinburgh… well done all, I think we slaughtered it (oh dear, so sorry)…
